“The flexibility of the opacity is the most exciting aspect of Vetroarredo!”

"We chose Vetroarredo® Glass Block for the PT/OT pool because the client wanted the pool to be a high visibility area. Sort of their showpiece. However, most people who just had surgery don’t necessarily want to be seen in a bathing suit by people rehabbing in the gym. So we decided to provide a partial screen that allowed selected clear vision into the pool through selected smaller areas while primarily blocking view. People know something special is happening behind the glass even though they can’t see the entire room as if they were watching TV.
We chose Vetroarredo® because of the clear glass primarily. No other product line had that option. It allowed the clear vision we wanted. We used them sparingly with the traditional block. I also really liked the soft and smooth frosted block so we incorporated all three into the design. No company provides all those options."
Waiting Area
"Consequently, we had a need to partially screen the waiting area from the gym area, so we decided to unify the spaces with the same glass materials and similar pattern. In this location we pushed the envelope a little and curved the wall and stepped it down to reveal glimpses into the activity in the gym."
Breakroom
"For the breakroom, we needed a focal wall at the end of the corridor to orient a person when they got off the elevator. We backlit the glass over the counter to add a little accent drama as well as providing functional lighting over the counter. We curved it to give it a little character. Once we did the PT curve, flat panels just don’t provide the same interest anymore."
